From the period of time lasting from March to September 2011 I finished my degrees of Master of Computer Science at the University of Magdeburg. During this time I was able and had the opportunity to design a central based authentication system for certificates which deepened my knowledge. After improving my practical experiences in an automotive concern I decided to research for automated and objective security assessments and started working on my PhD.
Security assessments are based on methods of measurement for the determination of the risk of applications and complex system landscapes. Nevertheless the evaluation of the security of an application occurs only on application level and includes no underlying technologies or applications being related.
In the thesis a framework is developed into the automated security assessment on basis of a theoretical model, which one’s dependences too all underlying IT reproduces components and bordering applications.
