Contents:

Dr. Marc Zeller from Siemens Model-based Reliability & Safety Engineering Lab will give a lecture on the topic of fault trees and component fault trees in practical use as part of the Specification Engineering lecture. At the beginning of the lecture, he will discuss the basics and special features of fault trees in practical use in the safety analysis of critical systems. Building on this, Dr. Zeller presents an extension of fault trees: Component Fault Trees (CFT). Their application makes it possible to describe individual components by means of specific fault trees, which can then be combined to form a complete, representative fault tree for an analysis of the overall system. In addition, the application of CFTs is explained in more detail using a practical example.
