Accepted Data Showcase article at the MSR 2021
Our paper "AndroidCompass: A Dataset of Android Compatibility Checks in Code Repositories" by Sebastian Nielebock et al. has been accepted for presentation at the 2021 IEEE/ACM 18th International Conference on Mining Software Repositories (MSR) as part of the Data Showcase Track in May 2021. This paper describes AndroidCompass - a dataset of historical changes to Android compatibility checks in open source projects. We have also published a preprint as well as the dataset and its replication package.
CSE at the ICSE 2021 Doctoral Symposium
Our paper "Learning to Boost the Efficiency of Modern Code Review" by Robert Heumüller has been accepted for presentation at the PhD Symposium of the 43rd International Conference on Software Engineering.
In his PhD project, Mr. Heumüller explores how AI models can learn to support or partially replace human code reviewers by leveraging large software repositories and current deep learning algorithms.
New HPC system
The CSE is gearing up for 2021 with a new high-performance compute system! Equipped with several Nvidia-A100 Data Center GPUs, we will continue to participate in innovative research and development in the field of machine learning and scientific computing in the new year.
Our focus is on the application of learning-based methods for the analysis of large code bases for automatic program understanding and code reviews with the aim of improving software quality, as well as the conception of more reliable deep learning methods to make them usable for industrial use cases in small and medium-sized companies.
Reinforcement for the VIP+ Aurora team
At the beginning of this year, we were able to further strengthen our VIP+ AuRora project. Maximilian Kühne (Engineering Informatics) will now be supporting us with his numerous skills, especially in the area of collision avoidance.

First AuRora expert workshop held successfully
We would like to thank all workshop participants for the constructive and stimulating discussions and for their cooperation. Despite the digital implementation, a pleasant working atmosphere was created among the 15 participants, in which it was also easy for us to share and further develop our ideas and results with the invited industry representatives.
We are also pleased about the offers of cooperation that have arisen and hope to be able to incorporate them into our project planning in the near future.
We wish all participants a wonderful pre-Christmas period, continued success and good health.

AuRora: First evaluation system - KR3 AGILUS
A new KR3 AGILUS (electrical flange) was procured and put into operation as the first evaluation and test system. In the coming weeks, the basic interfaces and algorithms for path sequencing and optimization will be developed and tested on the system.
EVOK successfully achieves its milestone targets
At the end of August 2020, the "Real-time on-site reconnaissance and mission monitoring" project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, successfully and officially entered its second half. All the goals set were presented comprehensively and to the complete satisfaction of all those involved, right on time for the milestone. For more than 18 months now, the team has been working closely with its partners at the Saxony-Anhalt State Office of Criminal Investigation and METOP GmbH. After the results of the first half, the second half promises to remain exciting.
As part of the project, the Chair of Software Engineering is involved in the creation, implementation and evaluation of a fusion algorithm, the definition, implementation and evaluation of information visualizations and the definition, implementation and evaluation of a communication component.
